     On page 22, at the beginning of line 27 of the committee amendment, insert A(1)@

     On page 22, line 28 of the committee amendment, strike Atwelve@ and insert A((twelve))fifteen@

     On page 22, line 29 of the committee amendment, after Alot@ insert Aunless a fee has been adopted under subsection (2) of this section, in which case the licensee shall pay the fee adopted under subsection (2) of this section@

     On page 22, after line 34 of the committee amendment, insert the following:

A(2) The board may by rule alter the fee prescribed in subsection (1) of this section for each head of cattle handled through a licensee=s feed lot.  This authority of the board includes, but is not limited to, prescribing a fee for each head of cattle owned by the licensee handled through the licensee=s feed lot and prescribing a different fee for each head of cattle owned by a person other than the licensee handled through the licensee=s feed lot.@

EFFECT: Keeps the fee for each head of cattle handled through a certified feed lot at 15 cents per head rather than allowing it to be reduced to 12 cents per head beginning July 1, 1998, (as under current law) and allows the Board to alter the fee.  The authority of the Board includes setting, for cattle handled through a feed lot, one fee for the cattle owned by the feed lot owner and a different fee for the cattle owned by others.
