    On page 14, line 4, after "counterfeiting." insert "An entity that gathers information from the machine-readable technologies placed on the driver license or identicard is prohibited from accumulating the data contained therein for maintenance of a permanent record. This restriction does not apply to: (a) law enforcement agencies, and (b) other official government agencies when  deemed necessary for the efficient operation of government by the director of the department of licensing."

EFFECT: Prohibits any entity from gathering information contained in the bar codes or magnetic stripes for maintenance of a permanent record. Exceptions are provided for law enforcement agencies and other official government agencies when deemed necessary for the efficient operation of government by the director of DOL.
