SHB 2573 - S AMD TO LAW COMM AMD (S5322.1) - 969

    On page 2, after line 8 of the amendment, insert the following:

    "NEW SECTION. Sec. 3.  A new section is added to chapter 9.94A RCW to read as follows:

    If a person accused of violating section 1 or 2 of this act is acquitted or found not guilty, any record of the accusation must be purged from personnel records kept or maintained by any state or local governmental agency."

    Renumber the remaining sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

    On page 13, line 7 of the title amendment, after "RCW;" insert "adding a new section to chapter 9.94A RCW;"

EFFECT:  Requires that all records of a custodial sexual misconduct accusation be purged if an employee is acquitted of the crime.
