    On page 2, after line 8 of the amendment, insert the following:

    "NEW SECTION. Sec. 3.  A new section is added to chapter 9.94A RCW to read as follows:

    If a person accused of a violation of section 1 or 2 of this act is acquitted or found not guilty, the accused person is entitled to reimbursement by the department that employs the accused person for all reasonable costs, including loss of time at work, legal fees, other costs of defense, and lost benefits."

    Renumber the sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

    On page 13, line 7 of the title amendment, after "RCW;" insert "adding a new section to chapter 9.94A RCW;"

EFFECT:  Allows the acquitted employee to be reimbursed by the state for any costs incurred during criminal proceedings.
