    On page 6, line 1 of the amendment, after "automobiles;" strike "and"

    On page 6, line 2 of the amendment, after "plans" insert "; and (i) broad public support including but not limited to associations, state and local agencies, local jurisdictions, federally recognized tribes, and other interested parties that support a byway designation"

    On page 6, line 6 of the amendment, after "section." insert "If a byway sponsor and a local jurisdiction disagree on the nomination of a byway, the department may facilitate dispute resolution before making a byway recommendation to the transportation commission."

EFFECT:  Byway designation criteria is expanded to require broad based public support.  A dispute resolution process is included if a byway sponsor and a local jurisdiction disagree on the nomination of a byway.
