    On page 1, line 13, after "Washington."  insert "Nothing in this section shall be construed to permit any historical document to be used as either a written or verbal prayer in any public school building, public school classroom, or event sponsored by a public school under circumstances that would violate Article 1, section 11 and Article 9, section 4 of the state Constitution."

EFFECT OF THE AMENDMENT: Requires that any documents containing religious references be used in a manner consistent with the Washington State Constitution.
