Background:  Current statute provides for the issuance of a juvenile agricultural driving permit to people under the age of 18 by the Department of Licensing.  The permit allows for the operation of a motor vehicle on and around public highways in a restricted area for one year.

 

Summary of Bill:  The holder of a juvenile agricultural driving permit is allowed to participate in the classroom portion of a traffic safety education course approved by the Superintendent of Public Instruction and offered in the community in which the holder is a resident.

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
