Background:  The state government operates on the basis of a fiscal biennium that begins on July 1 of each odd-numbered year.  A biennial operating budget was enacted in the 1997 legislative session, appropriating $19.085 billion from the state general fund. 

 

Summary of Amended Bill:  The 1997-99 Omnibus Appropriations Act is amended.

 

The amendment redistributes general fund state appropriations, and raises the general fund state appropriation level by $1 million, for a total of $19.086 billion for the 1997-99 biennium.
