Title:  An act relating to production of game birds at game farms operated by the department of fish and wildlife.

Background:  The Department of Fish and Wildlife intends to close Whidbey Island game farm.  Pheasant hunters desire to keep the Whidbey Island game farm operating.

 

Summary of Bill:  The Department of Fish and Wildlife must continue to operate the Whidbey Island game farm.  The department must conduct a site feasibility study for new department-operated game farms and report to the Legislature by December 31, 1997.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
