Background: The Public Disclosure Act (PDA) requires that political campaign and lobbying expenditures be fully disclosed to the public. The concept behind complete disclosure is to assure public confidence of the fairness of elections and governmental processes.
Summary of Bill: A bargaining representative or member of a bargaining unit for certified educational employees is prohibited from making a contribution to any candidate running for a school board.
Appropriation: None.
Fiscal Note: Not requested.
Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
