Counties are also required to submit an annual transportation plan by the first Monday in October. The annual plan must be adopted prior to the adoption of the ensuing year=s transportation budget.
Summary of Bill: The July 1 adoption date for the six-year transportation program is revised to allow the six-year plan to be adopted at any time prior to the adoption of the annual transportation budget.
Appropriation: None.
Fiscal Note: Not required.
Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
Testimony For: By moving the adoption date for the six-year plan closer to the adoption date for the annual budget, the need for amendments to the six-year plan will be reduced, saving time and money for the counties.
Testimony Against: None.
Testified: Senator Haugen, prime sponsor; Eric Berger, CRAB (pro).
