Background:  Initiative Measure No. 134, passed by voters on November 3, 1992, places a number of limitations on political contributions, including an interval before and after legislative sessions in which no contributions can be accepted.

 

Summary of Substitute Bill:  The period in relation to a regular session in which accepting or soliciting campaign contributions is proscribed begins on December 10.  A contribution that is received by mail and postmarked before the proscribed period may be accepted. 

 

Substitute Bill Compared to Original Bill:  The proscribed period begins on December 10.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
