Background:  The state's industrial insurance protections cover all occupations except those specifically excluded by statute.  Services performed by an insurance agent, insurance broker, or insurance solicitor are not included within the mandatory coverage of the state's workers' compensation laws.

 

Summary of Bill:  The exclusion of insurance brokers, insurance agents, and insurance solicitors from the mandatory coverage of the state's workers' compensation laws is eliminated.

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
