Creating additional judicial positions in the Spokane superior court.

    AN ACT Relating to superior court judges; amending RCW 2.08.061; and creating a new section.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

    Sec. 1.  RCW 2.08.061 and 1996 c 208 s 3 are each amended to read as follows:

    There shall be in the county of King no more than fifty-eight judges of the superior court; in the county of Spokane ((eleven)) thirteen judges of the superior court; and in the county of Pierce nineteen judges of the superior court.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  The additional judicial positions created by section 1 of this act take effect upon the effective date of this act, but the actual starting dates for these positions must be established by the Spokane county commissioners upon the request of the superior court.
