Requiring the department of health to establish a process for establishing a fee schedule for school inspections.

    AN ACT Relating to school inspections; and creating a new section.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  Within thirty days of the effective date of this act, the department of health shall establish a process by which local health jurisdictions and local school districts cooperatively establish the fee schedule that will be used to conduct school inspections required under RCW 43.20.050 in the district.  The process also must be used to establish the fee schedule for local health jurisdictions and private schools.  The process must require that when a local health jurisdiction and a local school district are unable to cooperatively establish a fee schedule, the fee is limited to twenty-five dollars per year per school campus for each inspection in the district.
