Revising prevailing wage surveys.


    AN ACT Relating to prevailing wage surveys; and amending RCW 39.12.015.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    Sec. 1.  RCW 39.12.015 and 1965 ex.s. c 133 s 2 are each amended to read as follows:

    (1) To determine the prevailing rate of wage on public works projects, the department of labor and industries shall contract with an independent third party to conduct wage surveys and determine the prevailing rate of wage for each relevant scope of work description issued by the department.  The surveys for each scope of work description must be conducted at least annually and must survey an equal number of employers who are subject to wage provisions for the relevant scope of work description in a collective bargaining agreement and employers who are not subject to such a collective bargaining agreement.

    (2) All determinations of the prevailing rate of wage shall be ((made)) published by the industrial statistician of the department of labor and industries on a schedule established by department rules, but no less than twice each year.
