 Establishing collaborative review of multijurisdictional projects.


    AN ACT Relating to collaborative review of multijurisdictional projects; amending RCW 36.70A.430; and creating a new section.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    Sec. 1.  RCW 36.70A.430 and 1994 c 258 s 2 are each amended to read as follows:

    For counties engaged in planning under this chapter, there shall be established ((by December 31, 1994,)) a collaborative process to review and coordinate state and local permits for all ((transportation)) projects that cross more than one city or county boundary.  ((This process shall at a minimum, establish a mechanism among affected cities and counties to designate a permit coordinating agency)) To facilitate the multijurisdictional review and approval of ((such transportation)) projects, this process must be administered by metropolitan planning organizations, authorizing them to review and permit multijurisdictional projects.

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  If specific funding for the purposes of this act, referencing this act by bill or chapter number, is not provided by June 30, 1997, in the omnibus appropriations act, this act is null and void.
