Prohibiting further state contracting with Second Chance Corporation.

    AN ACT Relating to Second Chance Corporation; adding a new section to Title 39 RCW; and creating a new section.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to Title 39 RCW to read as follows:

    (1) For the purposes of this section, "Second Chance Corporation" means the business entity registered under that name with the secretary of state, and any of its subsidiaries, subdivisions, or successor entities.

    (2) No state governmental agency may contract with Second Chance Corporation to do business of any kind whatsoever that includes the expenditure of public funds derived from state resources.

    (3) Second Chance Corporation is excluded from any renewal of present contracts, reinstatement of dormant contracts, and application for future contracts that include the expenditure of public funds derived from state resources.

    (4) This section is prospective in application and does not preclude Second Chance Corporation from completing any previously contracted obligations.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  If any provision of this act or its application is held invalid, the remainder of the act is not affected.
