Clarifying the legislature's intent on health care insurance for tipped employees.


    AN ACT Relating to tipped employee health care insurance; and creating a new section.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  The legislature finds that the treatment of wages paid to tipped employees and the health care insurance provided to tipped employees are issues of significant concern to the state.  It is the intent of the legislature to address these concerns in a manner that fairly balances the needs of both tipped employees and their employers.
