Notifying vehicle owners of traffic violations by minor drivers.

    AN ACT Relating to notice of traffic violations by minors; adding a new section to chapter 46.63 RCW; and adding a new section to chapter 46.64 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 46.63 RCW to read as follows:

    The court with which a notice of a traffic infraction committed by a minor is filed shall, within three business days, mail written notice of the infraction notice to the registered owner of the vehicle operated by the minor.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  A new section is added to chapter 46.64 RCW to read as follows:

    The court with which a traffic citation alleged to have been committed by a minor is filed shall, within three business days, mail written notice of the citation to the registered owner of the vehicle operated by the minor.
