Authorizing an additional rod recreational fishing license.



    AN ACT Relating to recreational fishing licenses; adding a new section to chapter 75.25 RCW; adding a new section to chapter 77.32 RCW; providing an effective date; and declaring an emergency.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 75.25 RCW to read as follows:

    The director authorizes the sale of an additional rod recreational fishing license for food fish.  The additional rod license allows a recreational fisher to fish with up to two fishing rods at a time.  The additional rod license is in addition to other licensing requirements.

    The annual cost of an additional rod license is five dollars.

    The director may authorize the construction of the additional rod license from a durable material similar to the shellfish and seaweed license and may require external display of the additional rod license while a fisher is fishing with two rods.

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  A new section is added to chapter 77.32 RCW to read as follows:

    The director authorizes the sale of an additional rod recreational fishing license for game fish.  The additional rod license allows a recreational fisher to fish with up to two fishing rods at a time.  The additional rod license is in addition to other licensing requirements.

    The annual cost of an additional rod license is five dollars.

    The director may authorize the construction of the additional rod license from a durable material similar to the shellfish and seaweed license and may require external display of the additional rod license while a fisher is fishing with two rods.

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 3.  This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and takes effect July 1, 1997.
