Regarding the education of offenders under the age of eighteen who are housed in correctional facilities.

    AN ACT Relating to providing educational services for offenders under the age of eighteen and committed to a term of confinement in an adult correctional facility; and adding a new section to chapter 28A.190 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 28A.190 RCW to read as follows:

    The school district board of directors of any school district containing a correctional facility operated by the department of corrections is not required to conduct a program of education for offenders under the age of eighteen who are housed within the correctional facility.
