Prohibiting seat licenses in publicly owned or operated stadia.

    AN ACT Relating to seat licenses in publicly owned or operated stadia; adding a new section to chapter 36.100 RCW; and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 36.100 RCW to read as follows:

    (1) No professional sports team that plays in a stadium that is owned or operated by a public facility district may require the purchase of a seat license in the stadium as a condition for the purchase of any ticket.

    (2) For the purposes of this section, "seat license" means a transferable license sold to a third party that entitles that party to purchase a ticket.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and takes effect immediately.
