Requiring an internet posting of the names of persons whose licenses have been suspended for failure to pay child support.


    AN ACT Relating to child support collection and enforcement; and adding a new section to chapter 74.08A RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 74.08A RCW to read as follows:

    The secretary shall cause to be posted on the department's home page on the internet an alphabetized listing of the names and cities or towns of residence of persons who have received notices of intent to suspend their licenses under the federal personal responsibility and work opportunity reconciliation act of 1996, as implemented by chapter 58, Laws of 1997.

    The internet listing in this section shall be updated monthly to ensure that information about obligors who have paid or made arrangements to pay their support obligations is eliminated.  In the case of persons whose licenses have been suspended, the listing shall indicate the types of licenses suspended and the amount of support obligation in arrears.
