HB 1223 - DIGEST

(SUBSTITUTED FOR - SEE 1ST SUB)

     Requires a tenant to not engage in an activity at the rental premises that is considered a public nuisance to the neighborhood as defined in RCW 9.66.010.

     Allows a person to petition the appropriate district or superior court to have a tenant's tenancy terminated and removed from a premise if the:  (1) Tenant fails to comply with RCW 59.18.130(9), and the noncompliance can substantially affect the safety of the neighborhood; or

     (2) landlord fails to either evict the tenant causing the public nuisance or notify the tenant to comply with RCW 59.18.130(9).
