     Declares that a school's program may consist of less than the minimum one hundred eighty day school year if the school is closed due to declaration by the governor that the county in which the school is located is a disaster area.  The school year shall be one hundred eighty days minus the number of days, in excess of five, that the school is closed due to the disaster.

     Provides that, if a school district is closed on a school day due to the disaster, the school district shall apply certificated and classified employees' time or salary toward in-service training and planning to improve student learning for all students, consistent with the student learning goals in RCW 28A.150.210.
