HB 2174 - DIGEST

     Directs the secretary to adopt rules defining low-risk maternal clients and establishing practice standards for midwives.  These standards shall not be less than those adopted for childbirth centers under chapter 18.46 RCW.

     Declares that the "practice of midwifery" means providing medical aid service for a fee or compensation to low-risk maternal clients as defined by the secretary by rule under this act.
