HB 2626 - DIGEST

Finds that the emergency reserve fund was established to benefit education in the state, both directly through allocation of excess balances to education construction, and indirectly by protecting the single largest beneficiary of state general fund expenditures, which is K-12 schools, during economic downturns.

Declares an intent to augment the way in which the emergency reserve fund directly benefits education by dedicating interest earned by the fund to a newly established account to be used solely for education enhancements.
