HB 2649 - DIGEST

 

     Finds that:  (1) Housing is of vital importance to the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of the state;

     (2) safe, affordable housing is an essential factor for stabilizing communities;

     (3) local governments have a growing need for low-income housing for seniors, the disabled, and other low-income persons; and

     (4) reduction in federal support for low-income housing has increased the funding need for low-income housing.

     Declares an intent to provide a tax incentive for the counties and cities to address low-income housing problems.
