HB 2900-S.E - DIGEST

(DIGEST AS ENACTED)

     Directs the department of social and health services to study and report on the feasibility of adopting a pro rata calculation for grant amounts.

     Provides that the study shall include but not be limited to the following:  (1) The benefits and difficulties regarding implementation;

     (2) the fiscal impact;

     (3) appropriate good cause exceptions;

     (4) methods and rules for preventing abuse of the exceptions; and

     (5) recommendations on alternative calculation systems.

     Requires the department to report its findings to the children and family services committee of house of representatives and to the human services and corrections committee of the senate by November 30, 1998.
