HB 2992 - DIGEST

     Provides that a petition for visitation rights need not be filed contemporaneously with, or be preceded by, a proceeding for child custody, or any other proceeding.  A petitioner under this section shall not be denied visitation rights merely because no other proceeding regarding the child, the child's family, or custody of the child has been filed by a parent of the child.

     Designates the factors which a court may consider when making a determination of the child's best interest.
