HB 3036 - DIGEST

 

     Declares that a person convicted of a crime against a child must be punished by confinement and fine to be no less than the following:  (1) By confinement in a state correctional institution for a term of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole;  and

     (2) by a fine of no less than one hundred thousand dollars.

     Declares that, for purposes of this act, a "crime against a child" is designated as one of the following:  (1) Rape of a child in the first degree;

     (2) child molestation in the first degree; or

     (3) homicide by abuse, if the victim is under sixteen years of age.
