SB 5446 - DIGEST

     Provides that a public body shall establish a thirty-day public comment period to receive public comment on its preliminary determination to use the alternative public works contracting procedure.

     Requires the public body to receive and record written and oral comments concerning the preliminary determination at the public hearing.

     Provides that, in addition to the projects authorized in RCW 39.10.050 and 39.10.060, public bodies may use the general contractor/construction manager or design-build procedure for demonstration projects valued between three million dollars and ten million dollars as follows:  (1) Three demonstration projects by the department of general administration; and

     (2) one demonstration project by each of the public bodies authorized in RCW 39.10.020(2) other than the department of general administration.
