SB 6281 - DIGEST

 

     Directs the state parks and recreation commission to review existing and future recreational needs in the Cascade foothills and the means by which a Cascade foothills state park system may meet these needs.

     Provides that, in conducting the study, the commission shall consult with and seek the assistance of the governing bodies of the counties within the Cascade foothills area.  The commission shall hold its meetings within the Cascade foothills, which shall be open to the public and provide maximum opportunity for public participation.  The report and recommendations shall be provided to the fiscal and parks committees of the senate and house of representatives no later than December 15, 1998.

     Makes an appropriation of thirty thousand dollars from the general fund to the interagency committee for outdoor recreation for the biennium ending June 30, 1999, for the purposes of this act.
