     On page 53, after line 28 of the amendment, insert the following:

ANEW SECTION. Sec. 1404. If by December 31, 2004, harvest levels of Snake River fall chinook salmon, Lower Columbia River wild chinook salmon and Willamette River spring chinook salmon in Alaskan waters are not reduced twenty-five percent from 1997 harvest levels, this act is null and void.@

     Renumber the remaining section consecutively, correct any internal references accordingly, and correct the title.

EFFECT: Provides that the act is null and void unless harvest levels of specified salmon runs are not reduced by twenty-five percent by December 31, 2004.
