     On page 2, line 29, after "more" insert "in a rural county,"

     On page 2, line 30, after "acres." insert "For the purposes of this subsection, "rural county" has the same meaning as in RCW 82.14.370(5)."

EFFECT: Applies the city population threshold criterion only to those cities in rural counties (statutorily defined to be counties with population densities fewer than one hundred persons per square mile) for purposes of the exemption from the beneficial interest in contracts prohibition for municipal officers.
