    On page 6, after line 30, insert the following:

    "NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. The general fund budget for the state board of education for the 1999-2001 biennium shall be reduced by an appropriate percentage that reflects the reduction in its duties as a result of section 2 of this act."

    Renumber the sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT: Adds a new section that reduces the appropriation to the State Board of Education by a percentage that reflects the reduction in its duties.
