Background:  The major flooding in western Washington in 1990 necessitated some changes to the Hydraulics Act in order to achieve restoration of damaged lands.  The Legislature granted special exemptions for flood damage mitigation for Whatcom County.  That operation is complete and the need for legislative authorization no longer exists.

 

Summary of Bill:  RCW 75.21.001 is repealed.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.

 

Testimony For:  The statutes being repealed have served their purpose and are no longer needed.
