Majority Report:  Do pass.

Signed by Senators Patterson, Chair; Gardner, Vice Chair; Hale, Horn, Kline and McCaslin.

Staff:  Diane Smith (786-7410)

Background:  The state does not have an official means by which to facilitate contributions from those citizens wishing to participate in the national WWII veterans= memorial to be built in Washington, D.C.  Likewise, the state does not have an account in its treasury dedicated to receiving appropriations on account of the national memorial.

Appropriation:  None.

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.

Testimony For:  This is the way we can help our citizens make their support for WW II veterans known at the national level.  It is essential that we act as leaders in the cause of honoring our veterans and giving our state recognition at the national level.

Testimony Against:  None.

Testified:  Senator Marilyn Rasmussen, prime sponsor.
