Restricting the ability of taxing districts to "bank" property tax levy capacity in excess of the rate of inflation.

    AN ACT Relating to restricting the ability of taxing districts to increase property tax levies in excess of the rate of inflation; creating a new section; and repealing RCW 84.55.092.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  RCW 84.55.092 and 1998 c 16 s 3, 1988 c 274 s 4, & 1986 c 107 s 3 are each repealed.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  Section 1 of this act applies to taxes levied for collection in 2000 and thereafter.
