HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 99-4645, by Representatives Parlette and Ballard

 

    WHEREAS, The legislature of the state of Washington, by legislative fiat, created Chelan County on the 13th day of March 1899; and

    WHEREAS, The County of Chelan has been an integral part of the state of Washington, through its production of apples and other fruits, which have made the state one of the leading agricultural states of the union; and

    WHEREAS, By reason of its unparalleled beauty and opportunities for recreation, Chelan County has become a tourist mecca for the state; and

    WHEREAS, The educational opportunities of the County have provided a well-trained, motivated, and capable workforce for our industry;

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the legislature recognize Chelan County's many accomplishments and encourage all the citizens of Washington state to join in the celebration of the centennial of Chelan County; and

    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be immediately transmitted by the Co-Chief Clerks of the House of Representatives to Chelan County officials.
