Requiring country of origin labeling for bulk fruits and vegetables for retail sale.

    AN ACT Relating to food labeling; and adding a new section to chapter 69.04 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 69.04 RCW to read as follows:

    All bulk fruits and vegetables for retail sale to ultimate consumers, except those at farmers' markets or stands or markets located in conjunction with the actual place the fruits or vegetables are grown, shall be labeled with the country of origin.
