HB 1730 - DIGEST

     Directs the office of financial management, in consultation with the office of the superintendent of public instruction and teacher training programs at Washington institutions of higher education to conduct a study on the need for teachers in the kindergarten through twelfth grade system in Washington state.  The study shall include an evaluation of teacher supply and demand in Washington over the next ten years and make recommendations for addressing teacher supply needs that are identified in the study.  The results of the study shall be submitted to the legislature by November 1, 2000.
