HB 1954 - DIGEST

     Provides that special purpose districts shall comply with local comprehensive plans and development regulations adopted pursuant to chapter 36.70A RCW where such comprehensive plans and development regulations are consistent with the county-wide planning policies developed pursuant to RCW 36.70A.210.

     Provides that, not later than July 1, 2001, a county planning under this chapter shall initiate a collaborative process for the development of a county-wide planning policy for the coordination of planning for the following public facilities:  (1) Sanitary and storm sewers;

     (2) potable water facilities;

     (3) park and recreational facilities;

     (4) fire suppression;

     (5) libraries;

     (6) schools; and

     (7) transportation, including roads, mass transit, marine transportation, and general aviation.  The policy shall be developed collaboratively among the county, the cities located in part or in whole within the county, and special purpose districts providing one or more of such public facilities.
