HB 3071 - DIGEST

     Provides that all students in Washington state high schools shall complete a minimum of forty hours of community service.

     Directs the superintendent of public instruction to adopt rules to implement this provision and establish a process for a school board to exempt a student from the requirement under this provision.

     Takes effect August 1, 2001.
