     On page 3, line 10, after "this" strike all material through "information." on line 11 and insert "act.  The secretary of state shall list general categories of contributors developed by the public disclosure commission, including but not limited to retired persons, labor unions, political action committees, business interests, environmental organizations, and organizations concerned with economic growth."

     On page 3, line 23, after "candidate." insert "For each candidate for state office, the public disclosure commission shall ascertain the ten general categories of contributors who contributed the most money to that candidate, along with the approximate amount contributed by each category.  The secretary of state shall add this information to the notice in the voters' pamphlet indicating whether the candidate promised to abide by the voluntary spending limit."

EFFECT:  Requires the Public Disclosure Commission to develop general categories of contributors, determine the ten categories of contributors who contributed the most money to each candidate for state office, and determine the approximate amount contributed to each candidate by each category.  Requires the Secretary of State to publish the list of general categories and the ten highest contributor categories for each candidate in the voters' pamphlet.
