     On page 1, line 16, strike "Eligible school" and insert "School"

     On page 2, beginning on line 15, after "(3)" strike all material through "statewide." on line 22 and insert "The maximum housing allowance levy allowed for a school district shall be the sum of the following: Each non-supervisory employee's full time equivalence multiplied by the difference between the statewide median cost of housing and the lesser of (a) the district's cost of housing or (b) the cost of housing in the district in which each employee resides." 

     On page 2, line 24, after "median" insert "and shall not be less than one thousand dollars"

     On page 2, beginning on line 36, strike "that qualify for a housing allowance levy under subsection (3) of this section"

EFFECT: Allows all school districts to submit to voters housing allowance levies.  The calculation of the maximum amount a district may levy is based on the lesser of the cost of housing in the district in which each employee resides or the cost of housing in the district in which the employee works.  The minimum allowance to be used in the calculation of a district's maximum allowable levy is $1,000 for each employee.
