     On page 41 of the striking amendment, after line 24, insert the following:

     "Sec. 610.  2001 2nd sp.s. c ___ (ESSB 6153 P.L.) s 725 (uncodified) is amended to read as follows:

     PUGET SOUND FERRY OPERATIONS ACCOUNT

((State Surplus Assets Reserve Fund--State Appropriation))

General Fund--State Appropriation (FY 02) . . .$ 20,000,000

General Fund--State Appropriation (FY 03) . . .$ 10,000,000

TOTAL APPROPRIATION . . . . . . . . . . .$  30,000,000

     The appropriations in this section ((is)) are subject to the following conditions and limitations:  The appropriations in this section are for appropriation to the Puget Sound ferry operations account to carry out the purposes of the account.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 611.  A new section is added to 2001 2nd sp.s. c ___ (ESSB 6152 P.L.) (uncodified) to read as follows:

     FOR THE STATE TREASURER--TRANSFERS

Emergency Reserve Fund:  For transfer to the general

     fund--state . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  $ 30,000,000"

     Renumber the remaining sections consecutively and correct title and internal references accordingly.

EFFECT:  Amends the operating budget to make the appropriation for ferry operations come from the State General Fund, rather than the State Surplus Assets Reserve Fund.  Transfers $30 million from the Emergency Reserve Fund to the State General Fund.
