     On page 2, after line 11 of the amendment, insert the following:

A(4) The superintendent of public instruction may adopt rules to implement provisions of this section.  These rules may include, but are not limited to, provisions for periodic drills and testing, evacuations, lockdowns, or other components of a comprehensive safe school plan.@

     On page 2, beginning on line 12 of the amendment, strike all of section 3

     Renumber the remaining sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

     On page 12, line 12 of the amendment, after AInformation@, strike all material through Aassessments@ on line 14, and insert Acompiled by school districts or schools in the development of their comprehensive safe school plans pursuant to section 2 of this act,@

     On page 13, line 1 of the amendment, strike A5" and insert A4"

     On page 13, line 5 of the amendment, strike ASections 3 and 4" and insert ASection 3"

     On page 13, line 5 of the amendment, strike Atake@ and insert Atakes@

EFFECT: Removes the requirement for the Superintendent of Public Instruction to adopt rules for cases of emergency.  Gives the Superintendent of Public Instruction the ability to adopt rules to implement provisions of comprehensive safe school plans.  Exempts from public disclosure information compiled by school districts or schools in the development of safe school plans to the extent they identify specific vulnerabilities.
