     On page 82, line 9, decrease the state toxics control account--state appropriation by $800,000.

     Correct the total. 

     On page 84, line 11, strike all of subsection (7) and insert the following:

     "(7) Within the funds appropriated in this section, the department shall develop for review by the legislature a proposed long-term strategy to address persistent, bio-accumulative and toxic chemicals in the environment.  The department shall submit its proposal to the appropriate legislative committees by December 30, 2001."

EFFECT: Requires the Department of Ecology to develop a long-term strategy for persistent bioaccumulative toxins.

FISCAL EFFECT: Decreases the state toxics control account--state      appropriation by $800,000.
